The Millennium Development Goals are 8 anti-poverty goals defined by the UN to be achieved by 2015.
The goals include eliminating extreme poverty, improve health and education in the third world and ensure gender equality, environmental responsibility and global cooperation.
The good news we joined in to spread is, that it works! We can actually make a difference for people around the globe.
RICE arranged an extra special outlet to celebrate how far we have come, but also to raise awareness on how much work we have left.
Until now we have accomplished that; 90% of children in third world countries now go to school; 400 million people have escaped extreme poverty and 1,6 billion people now have access to clean drinking water, to name a few of the great news.
