RICE products...
…are Fun, Funky and Functional
RICE is known for our colourful melamine products, handmade baskets and storage, and our hand painted Italian tableware. Our designs are inspired by “the good old days” and are very casual and rich on details. We wish to colour you happy when you are cooking, cleaning, baking and relaxing in your home.
Our products are designed in Denmark and produced in third world countries, with the exception of our hand glazed Italian tableware. Therefore it is important to us, that our suppliers have strong social and ethical standards, and provide workers with a safe and healthy work environment.
Our core principles are no child labour, fair wages and healthy work environment.
As a result of our ethical profile and our efforts in improving our suppliers’ work environment we have been certified according to the
SA8000 international social accountability standard for working conditions.
Melamine
Our colorful Melamine products are long lasting dishware, BPA free and dishwasher safe.
We have been doing melamine almost since the very beginning of RICE. There are lots of different qualities of melamine available on the market, and it can be quite difficult to see if the quality is a 100% melamine or a blend of several other components.
We have developed a small sticker to put on our melamine items. This is your guarantee that our products are made from 100% melamine. It will also make it easier for you costumers to distinguish between the RICE Original Quality and whatever else you can find out there.

Italian Tableware - Delicious
Our Italian hand-glazed tableware is one of our favorite products, each item unique and in all the colors of the world.
Our Italian Tableware is made of clay – clay is a natural product and over time a mottles appearance may occur on the items due to usage and the natural aging process, which is all part of its charm.
All the pieces are hand painted and because of this, every item varies slightly in color and in its style of painting – this is what makes the product unique and special.
Every item is glazed after the painting is done – on some items you will find small holes in the glazing. This cannot be avoided – and it presents no danger to the durability of the product.
Food Safety
Food Safety is our priority. As we have a lot of products in our collection to be used for food contact we have built a self control system.
This system is overviewed by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA). The self control system is an ongoing process in close cooperation with our suppliers in order always to live up to the European standards.

Our products are approved for food contact, and meet the requirements of the European Union. They are produced according to European safety, health and environmental regulations.
